The Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s Salutes Dr. Kynna Wright-Volel RN
Los Angeles, CA -- Apr 30, 2012 --
Dr. Kynna Wright-Volel recently received a $1.2 million grant funded jointly by the Office of Behavioral Social Science, and the National Institute of Nursing Resarch of the National Institute of Health.. This grant allows Dr. Wright-Volel to continue to work in collaboration with the Los Angeles Unified School District to launch "Project SHAPE LA" (tm). The SHAPE LA (tm) Project is a school-health program that positions youth in Los Angeles County schools to increase their physical activity. Dr. Wright-Volel is no stranger to such leadership initiatives. She is a Robert Wood Johnson Nurse Faculty Scholar Alumni, A Fellow in The American Academy of Nursing (FAAN), and an assistant professor at UCLA.
