The Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s Salutes Dr. Kynna Wright-Volel RN
Los Angeles, CA -- Apr 30, 2012 --

Dr. Kynna Wright-Volel recently received a $1.2 million grant funded jointly by the Office of Behavioral Social Science, and the National Institute of Nursing Resarch of the National Institute of Health..  This grant allows Dr. Wright-Volel to continue to work in collaboration with the Los Angeles Unified School District to launch "Project SHAPE LA" (tm).  The SHAPE LA (tm) Project is a school-health program that positions youth in Los Angeles County schools to increase their physical activity. Dr. Wright-Volel is no stranger to such leadership initiatives. She is a Robert Wood Johnson Nurse Faculty Scholar Alumni, A Fellow in The American Academy of Nursing (FAAN), and an assistant professor at UCLA.

The Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s salutes Dr. Wright-Volel as a "Scholar Within" with important knowledge to share.... Knowledge that makes a difference.  See RWJF.org for additional information about the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.  See newsroom.ucla.edu/po  and ucla.edu  for additional information about this grant and Dr. Kynna Wright Volel. “Our solutions are bigger than any one profession or job. We must reclaim our interconnections and learn to freely share information with each other, and to support the success of a new generation. We must create connections and collaborations. Our goal must be to move this system in the direction of caring what happens to persons who need it the most, and we must take our place in that effort. We will find a way to make a difference!"
