The Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s Salutes Dr. Cherif Keita
May 28, 2012 -- Dr. Cherif Keita is a Professor of French, and Director of French and Francophone Studies at Carleton College, a private liberal arts college in Northfield, Minnesota. He is also a noted filmmaker and historian bringing African history into the US College curriculum and connecting a new generation of learners to the realities. Recently Dr. Keita narrated a program entiltled "Mali: A History in Music," and was the guest of a special interview and display of the photographs of Mali. The program was aired on Afropop Worldwide - Music and Stories from the African Planet. The Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s salutes Professor Keita for " Standing in The Gap" as a "Scholar Within," bringing history forward.
