Distinguished Military Veterans Among "2014 Villager Award Recipients"
Long Beach, CAlifornia -- Apr 18, 2014 -- The Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s is focused on building 'Villages' of support networks. The strength rests in connecting persons from diverse backgrounds with persons who can benefit from their knowledge and experiences. Military veterans, and especially distinguished retirees, offer an unrecognized pool of talent and connection to the community. The Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s encourages and provides the environment in which these distinguished retirees can reconnect with their communities of origin and use their talents to make a difference. On May 10, 2014 "Villager Awards" recipients will include several who have made this reconnection. The recipients have made a positive difference in their local communities, served as role models, established and led community-building initiatives, and/or mentored persons in need of their advice and guidance. Among those receiving villager awards will be Vice-Admiral Edward Moore (USN Ret.) and his wife, Deborah Moore; and Lt. Colonel Patricia Jackson-Kelley (US Army Ret.) and her husband George Kelley. Also honored as one of the founding participants in the Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s will be Colonel Patricia Hinchberger (US Army Retired), and Captain Joan Craigwell (US Air force Ret.). The public is invited to join in this celebration on May 10, 2014. Call 562-895-9205 or email villageprojects@aol.com for additional information. Visit: http:villagerawards.brownpapertickets.net for ticketing and other information.

“Our solutions are bigger than any one profession or job. We must reclaim our interconnections and learn to freely share information with each other, and to support the success of a new generation. We must create connections and collaborations. Our goal must be to move this system in the direction of caring what happens to persons who need it the most, and we must take our place in that effort. We will find a way to make a difference!"
