Ernesta Wright Speaks to Nurses on Breast Cancer Awareness

Los Angeles, California -- Dec 7, 2005 --

Ernesta Wright, Founder and Executive Director, The G.R.E.E.N. Foundations based in Orange County, California addressed a group of 30 African-American Registered Nurses at a recent gathering. Ernesta urged the group to take charge of their commitment to minority communities, to network together, and to not stop until every person in every underserved community has been reached. She spoke specifically of breast cancer awareness and challenged each nurse to become more involved and to seize every opportunity to educate the community. She said "If not us, then who will do it?"  The gathering was held in conjunction with the Founder's Day observation of Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority, Inc.(http://www.chietaphi.com)  and attendees included the Southwest Regional Director, Dr. Louvene Knight RN, and the National Organizer, Elcedo Bradley RN, MPH. Mu Chi Chapter, Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. was the host chapter.

 The Scholars WIthin of The Village P.R.O.J.E.C.T.S.(http://www.regainingstrength.com)  aims to reconnect health care providers and educators with the communities that are most in need of their services, by locating and networking persons from the community.  Ernesta is no novice to connecting with the community. The G.R.E.E.N. Foundation, which she founded,  is a non-profit foundation that focuses on health, social services and economic empowerment among low-income African-Americans and Latino Communities in Orange County, California. Previously, she was the Executive Director of an organization that connects communities, faith-based organizations, government, health, and civic organizations.  She is a sought after speaker and consultant.  For  additional information email thegreenfoundation3@yahoo.com  or write The G.R.E.E.N Foundation; P.O.
